Peace-building and Reconciliation

South Sudan is in the stage of transition to peace, democracy and stability. The Peace-building and Reconciliation was created out of the necessity to pursue peace based on justice and national cooperation. Its aim remains to achieve a greater unity between its members for the purpose of safeguarding and realizing the ideals and principles which are their common heritage and facilitating their economic and social progress. There activities include but not limited to:

  •  Empowering young people to promote, in their daily lives, cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue.
  •  Preventing violence and counteracting all forms of tribalism, sectarianism and discrimination on any grounds.
  •  Supporting the initiatives of young people and their organizations with regard to conflict prevention and mitigation, as well as post-conflict reconciliation by means of intercultural dialogue, including its religious dimension. The program consolidates and expands the work of RLO on rights for humanity. Efforts to protect civilians, enabling them to go about their daily lives without fear have always been at the heart of humanitarian and human rights work RLO also focuses on bringing communities together to resolve conflicts and to contribute to the effort towards sustainable peace in South Sudan.
  •  Training activities on conflict mitigation and conflict transformation, awareness raising, campaigning, non-violent actions, youth work activities, local and international youth meetings and mediations, among others.
  •  The organization will be an active participant contributing to change in local context with regard to substantive peace, mobilize, train and build capacities of the youths and the communities for peace building and addressing the root causes of conflicts in South Sudan;
